Visa Card Fraud

Magnetic stripe and chip card usage alerts

Cannot swipe a magnetic stripe card
  • Call to authorize the transaction
  • With your merchant plate affixed to the imprinter, take a manual imprint of the card.
  • Record the following information on the manual sales draft:
    1. Customer signature
    2. Date
    3. Authorization number
    4. Amount of the transaction
  • Manually enter the transaction information into the terminal

Cannot insert a chip card
  • Terminal display will read “Card Error Please Try Again.”
  • If you are unsuccessful after three attempts, the terminal will read “Card Error Use Mag Stripe.”
  • Swipe the card to proceed with the transaction.
  • If unable to swipe the card, follow the steps above under “Cannot swipe a magnetic stripe card.”
